A natural pond, with swimming options, is in the immediate vicinity of the house. The bond is fed from below and freezes over in winter.
The village center of Schiefling is 5 minutes away. There you will find supermarket, bank, pizzeria, restaurant and a bicycle shop.
The beach of Schiefling at Lake Wörthersee is 4 kilometers away. There you will find surfing, water skiing, banana-driving, pedal boat, beach volleyball, table tennis, water slide and a children's playground.
The small lake Hafnersee is 6 km from the house. It is a warm, natural swimming lake that is mostly frozen over from December to March.
Within 8km you can reach Lake Keutschachersee. With a length of 1.6km and a width of 1.1km, it is one of the smaller lakes in Carinthia. In summer, water temperatures of 25 degrees are not uncommon.
The golf course of the Carinthian Golf Club Dellach in Maria Wörth is located directly on the southern shore of Lake Wörthersee.
There are simple hiking trails, so-called slow trails, in the surrounding area. For example, the “Slow Trail Römerschlucht” starts in Velden. There is free parking at the Velden ice rink, Köstenberger Straße 3.
A popular excursion destination for young and old is the Pyramidenkogel observation tower. The 120m long slide and the “Fly 100” are particularly popular with young or young-at-heart visitors.
The Pyramidenkogel belongs to Keutschach am See and you can reach it by foot in approx. 70 min. and by car in 20 min.
The hiking path to the Pyramidenkogel starts right behind the house.
The forest rope park is located about 800m from the Pyramidenkogel. It has 5 courses and 40 exercises. However, it is closed in bad weather.
The largest zoo in Carinthia is in Rosegg. There is also a castle and a garden labyrinth to visit here.
The little world am Wörthersee. More than 160 monuments are recreated here on a scale of 1:25. There are buildings, trains, ships and bridges from all over the world to admire. Original materials are mostly used for construction.
The Eagle Arena is located in Landskron at Lake Ossiachersee. When we were there several years ago with our son, not only the children were impressed, but also the adults. Valuable knowledge about the eagle and birds of prey in general is also imparted.
In the immediate vicinity of the Eagle Arena there is the Monkey Mountain. Here monkeys are kept like in the wild and can be observed by visitors in their daily lives. For security reasons, a visit is only possible with a guided tour.
The Kanzianiberg climbing garden (the "Kanzi") in Finkenstein is well suited for climbers of all skill levels as well as for families interested in climbing. You will find via ferratas and practice via ferratas in seven sectors.
Directly on the third largest lake in Carinthia there is the Family Forest, covering over 30,000m². Among other things, a forest roller coaster, tree houses, fly line, suspension bridge and spectacular tree platforms are offered.
Approx. 45 Min. by car is the small village Feld am See. There is a "Alpen wildlife park" and a fish farm there.
The wildlife park also has a children's zoo, a playground for children.
The design with 14 gates made the castle impregnable. Today Hochosterwitz Castle is one of the most beautiful sights in Carinthia and Austria.

The Obir Flowstone Caves are 60km away via the L107. If you use the A2 it's a good 70km. In both cases they require a little over an hour of travel time. Reservations are required to visit the cave.
Skiing in winter and cycling or hiking in summer and autumn. Not to forget the countless hiking opportunities away from the ski lifts, for example in the Carinthian Nock Mountains or in the Carnic Alps.
Bad Kleinkirchheim, the Gerlitzen and the Turracher Höhe also have lifts in summer.
